“Are you sure, sweetheart, that you want to be well?”

Toni Cade Bambara, The Salt Eaters

More About Me

I created this space considering my own experiences as a Black little girl who endured horrific and violent racism growing up in majority white suburban areas, often feeling misunderstand and lonely. My ongoing journey through womanhood has been molded by my diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus, and consequently trying to maintain my image of self, both physically and mentally. Leah Iman is my name, but more importantly, it is an acronym: Love Everything About Her. Impeccably Made African Native. Leah Iman is for all of US! It is a sanctuary to cultivate Black sisterhood, have honest and open conversations, and a place to purchase bold and affirming products relative to our lives.

I am unabashedly Black, a woman, auntie, Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus fighter, vegan, Doctoral student, creative, intellectual, critical, radical, feminist, beautiful, resistant, liberated, spiritual, introverted, confident, assertive, outspoken, sensitive, loving, loyal, strong-willed, afro-centric, loc'd goddess, bubbly, caring, charismatic, and most importantly, I am me.
